We are the Saint Madoc of Ferns Community Group (registered charity 1204104). This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you contact us by phone, email, letter, fill in a form or survey, attend any of our events or when you use our website:

When you have provided personal information to us we will use it only in accordance with this privacy statement, and in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR)
What we collect
When you visit our websites, we (like most websites), uses “cookies” (small identification tags consisting of a series of letter, numbers or characters) to monitor how visitors use the site.
These “cookies” are used purely by the website software for technical purposes to improve the efficiency of the site and to collect anonymous data on the numbers of people visiting the various pages of the website.
The website uses spam detection software (reCAPTCHA) that will analyse user behaviour to prevent junk postings.
We also collect email cookies from our emailing application to tell us whether emails are opened and verify any clicks through to links within an email. We use this information to help us ensure we are sending useful information to the right people.
We will collect personal information when you:
- Apply for membership.
- Complete surveys, send emails or provide feedback.
- Post a comment to the website.
- Sign up for email updates from our payment / donation website (Square) or social media.
This information may include:
- Name and contact details, including email address.
- Demographic information including postcode and skills / interests.
When visitors leave comments on the site their IP address and browser user agent string may be used to to help spam detection.
Where we hold your data
Contact details will be securely held in our supporters database and our emailing application. They may be held briefly held on paper or on the server of our website hosting provider before destruction / deletion.
Who we share your data with
We will not sell your information to any third party or share your data with other organisations without your permission.
Opting out of emails from us
If you have opted-in to hear from us about our progress, open meetings, and events, we will send you information which we hope will be of interest to you.
You have a right to stop us from contacting you at any time by clicking an unsubscribe link in our emails (where present) or emailing info@stmadocofferns.wales.
How long we keep your information
We do not keep your personal information for longer than necessary. We keep financial information for up to seven years due to legal reasons, but delete all other personal information from our supporter database and emailing application if we have not made contact within three years.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Uploading media to the website
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Your rights to your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
